The project includes the reconstruction of the compound of former old municipal hall (court) and prison, which will be part of the museum. The building will also host an information centre, social hall and town gallery, which has resided in rented premises until now. The buildings of the court and prison will be interconnected by a glass extension building, where automobiles will be exhibited on three floors. The project also includes the construction of a café, book store and a gift shop. A part of the court building will be used by the town gallery.

The museum will introduce the development of bodywork, which is closely connected with Vysoké Mýto.  It was just here, where the Sodomka body workshop operated.

The town of Vysoké Mýto obtained European and state subsidy for the reconstruction, which covered approx. 70% of eligible costs.
